Recipe Instructions

  1. Weigh all ingredients.
  2. Combine Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Castor Oil, Jojoba, Cocoa Butter, and Shea Butter in a stainless steel pot and heat on low until all oils are melted and combined. Cool to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
  3. Outside, wearing proper safety equipment, add lye to water and stir to dissolve. Let Cool to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
  4. When all ingredients are around 100 degrees, add to crock pot. Stir with stick blender until trace.
  5. Place lid on crockpot or cover with shrink wrap to cook on low for 50-60 minutes. Make sure to keep an eye on the mixture as it may climb the walls of the pot and need to be stirred.
  6. The batch will be ready when it’s the texture of mashed potatoes. This may take another 15 minute session or even two or three more stir’n’waits. When you think it’s ready, use a pH strip to test the levels. It should be showing below a 10.
  7. Once finished cooking, allow to cool to 180 degs. or below before adding your essential oils.
  8. Scoop into mold and let harden for 12-24 hours. Cut and let rest for atleast another day before packaging.
