Needed Ingredients

Water + Lye

254.25 g Water

127.13 g 100% Purity NaOH

Oils

980 g Lard

Additives + Additional Ingredients

10 gram Food grade activate charcoal powder

Recipe Instructions

Cold process:

  • Melt oils over double boiler and try to keep under 100F
  • If using charcoal powder: add now and blend thoroughly
  • Mix lye & water in separate container.
  • Allow to cool
  • At 110/120F incorporate lye water and oils together.
  • Emulsify with stick blender and bring to trace.
  • Add EO/FO
  • watch out for seizing
  • Transfer to a loaf mold using a silicone spatula
  • Allow to cool completely before cutting (cut within 24 hours as 100% lard soap are notorious for hardening quickly)
