Needed Ingredients

Water + Lye

19.95 oz Water

7.74 oz 100% Purity NaOH

Oils

5.10 oz Crisco (w/ Palm)

10.90 oz Olive Oil - All Grades

14.50 oz Soybean Oil (All Grades)

22 oz Coconut Oil, Virgin

Additives + Additional Ingredients

2 tablespoon table salt to harden, add to water, stir in, before adding lye

0.20 ounce sodium lactate, add to cooled lye/water solution

1 ounce poppy seed, add to the white section of soap

1 ounce mica black and white

4 ounce gear ties for swirling colors.

Recipe Instructions

If you are looking to increase bar hardness in a soap recipe, try:

  • Increasing your hard to soft oil ratio, by using a higher percentage of hard oils (oils that are solid at room temperature)
  • Adding stearic acid at 0.5% to 1% of the total soap formula
  • Including beeswax at 1% to 5% of the total soap recipe
  • Adding sodium lactate at 1% to 3% of the total soap formula
