Recipe Instructions

Additive Ingredients (800 grams of oils for 1.2 kg soap loaf mold)


  • 16 g Sodium lactate 60% solution
  • 5 g French red clay


  • 0.5 g Fennel e.o.
  • 1 g Mandarin e.o.
  • 1 g Petitgrain e.o.
  • 1.5 g Bitter orange e.o.
  • 3 g Lantana e.o.
  • 4 g Cabrueva e.o.
  • 5 g Frankincense e.o.


  • 8 g Citric acid


Method


Prepare lye

  • measure distilled water, weigh sodium hydroxide
  • add sodium hydroxide to distilled water and set aside in well ventilated area

Measure sodium lactate (16 g)

Measure citric acid (8 g)

  • note: if using ensure extra 5 g sodium hydroxide is used in lye preparation

Prepare oils

  • weigh & melt hard oils
  • weigh liquid oils
  • add liquid oils to melted hard oils
  • add French red clay (5 g)

When lye cools to 32 degrees centigrade

  • add sodium lactate

Blend the batter

  • add lye water to oil
  • whizz to thin trace
  • add essential oils
  • add citric acid
  • blend a little bit more

Pour, allow 48 hours before cutting

Cure for 4-6 weeks

Soap's ready... Celebrate by getting lathered!
