Anchoring the scents:

Measure the Cornstarch:

  • Use 1–2 teaspoons of cornstarch per pound of oils in your soap recipe.

Prepare the Essential Oils:

  • Mix your essential oils with the cornstarch before adding them to the soap batter. This step helps the cornstarch absorb the oils and act as a fixative.
  • Use a small bowl and stir the essential oils into the cornstarch until you achieve a uniform mixture.

Add to the Soap Batter:

  • Incorporate the cornstarch-essential oil mixture at light trace or just after achieving emulsion.
  • Blend thoroughly with a stick blender or by hand to ensure even distribution in the batter.

Proceed as Normal:

  • Pour the soap into your mold and cure it as usual.
